When I 1st heard of #SweetSuite18 I knew I had to get my kids there!
I didn’t even know what it entailed but caught a serious case of FOMO as I looked online for information about it. The Toy Insider promised a night of play for their 9th annual event and my kids, heck I needed that!
It is an invite-only event that runs from 4pm-9pm and I was going to try everything I could to get an invite. I waited for months for a reply, hit up various friends asking for help, I mean everything.
Luckily for me, I scored that invite but I didn’t know how lucky we were until we got here. #SweetSuite18 is definitely a Cool4Dads Certified Event.

The hype is real, arrive early
I hate lines, especially when I’m with my kids. I know you know that feeling! This is one of those events that you don’t want to get to late.
The event started at 4 pm and we got there by 3:45 pm. The line was lonnnnnng but manageable. The line was shorter for YouTubers, so register your channel and use that to your advantage.
I kept hearing from people I knew that after 4 pm the line was super long, glad I missed it.
You don’t want to be stuck on a line with over-eager kids while everyone is taking advantage of everything inside. Plan to get inside as soon as possible to take full advantage of every. The hype is real and there are tons to do, don’t waste time on a line.
#SweetSuite18 has something for everybody, even dads
You ever attended an event that promised fun for everybody but it actually sucked? Yeah, I had that a few times but with #SweetSuite18 that wasn’t about to happen.
They seriously have something for everybody to do and I don’t mean coloring books.
From the start, I was able to run through a big blow up ballon maze with my kids. I knew it was about to be on and glad I wore comfortable sneakers instead of Jordans.
That set the stage for the next 5 hours of play. There were more than 90 toy companies, most presenting toys that wouldn’t come out until the end of the year.
It’s very easy to get lost and get stuck at one booth when you’re having fun. I had to keep reminding my kids that there was way more to do. If not we wouldn’t have gotten through the whole event. That’s how much they have to do, you need the time.
#SweetSuite18 did it right, no corny toys
When I got the invite to #SweetSuite18 I knew my kids were going to be able to bring home some cool toys, but I didn’t know how many toys they would get.
If you can drive over to the event, do it! It saved me from having to jump on a packed train with bags of toys. I walked in with an empty bookbag and filled that up before even starting the event.
The swag that was given out at this event wasn’t cheap either. We got toys that kids really wanted, not those cheap paper airplanes toy companies give or buttons.
Every single booth gave us something to take home of real value. Bring extra bags, if it wasn’t for the Toy Insider giving us a bag of toys we would have been in trouble. We used that bag and a few more to grab all the coolest toys out.
The fun didn’t stop that night either, the Toy Insider sent all the attendees these huge swag boxes full of really dope toys. We got ours the following week and my kids went crazy for them.
Ended up donating a few online to dads from the #FatherhoodIsLit community. #PayItForward baby!
Don’t worry about dinner, they got you.
Before getting to #SweetSuite18 I bought my kids and myself a couple of slices to hold us down. I figured we would stop at Sticky Fingers in NYC for a quick bite after but didn’t even need to.
After chilling at the Nintendo booth for about an hour, I saw waiters walking by with food trays. My nose started to twitch, I smelled food and good food at that lol.
I sent my oldest to investigate the cost and he came back with burgers, chips and a soda. It was all FREE, yup free 99! He wasn’t sharing either so we made our way to the back of the venue.
I’m a chicken fingers type of guy but they had so much food there. Just like the toys, they had something for everybody. The food was pretty good and all I feared was that my kids or myself would fall into a food coma.

The Toy Insider boasts that they know PLAY and they weren’t kidding.
This wasn’t the typical invite-only industry event, it’s like they grabbed a bunch kids and asked them, what would be fun for you? They then made their wishes come through and more.
The minute we walked in you could see kids running around laughing and smiling. This wasn’t just a day at the park, it felt like our own day of taking over a mega toy store. RIP Toys R Us!!!
Our kids got the best of the best in regards to toys and got fed while being there.
Everything you could wish for, The Toy Insider made a reality and more! This was definitely a Cool4Dads Certified Event and I can’t wait to go back next year!
Who knows, maybe we can host something dope for dads there, you just never know.
